Project Name: AIR 5376 - Hornet Upgrade Phase 2.2
Customer: Tactical Fighter Systems Project Office, Royal Australian Air Force
Description: The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) are in the third stage of upgrading the avionics on their F/A-18s. Phase 2.2 incorporates the Joint Helmut Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS), Colour Displays, Counter Measures Dispensing set, Multifunction Information Distribution System (MIDS), Aircraft Memory Unit (AMU) and the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS). Pacific Aerospace Consulting is supporting the acquisition and transition into service of the Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) and the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS). This support is based in San Diego, California and includes liaison between the RAAF, the United States Navy (USN) and commercial vendors in addition to supporting the Test & Evaluation effort at China Lake, California and attending all project management and technical meetings. Pacific Aerospace Consulting is in a unique position to be able to offer a face to face liaison to the USN in the interests of the RAAF.
Project Name: AIR 5409 - Bomb Improvement Program
Customer: Tactical Fighter Systems Project Office, Royal Australian Air Force
Description: The aim of Air 5409 is to provide the RAAF with all-weather, autonomous, accurate delivery of bombs against a broad spectrum of targets on the F/A-18. The successful tender of the AIR 5409 bid was Boeing with the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM). To successfully integrate the JDAM onto the Hornet, the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) will require a number of upgrades. Pacific Aerospace Consulting has been employed to ensure this integration is successful and aligned with other RAAF projects upgrading the F/A-18 JMPS. This includes effective in-country liaison with the USN, USAF and appropriate commercial vendors.
Project Name: AIR 5418 - Follow On Stand Off Weapon
Customer: Tactical Fighter Systems Project Office, Royal Australian Air Force
Description: The aim of Air 5418 is to provide the RAAF with a tactical cruise missile capability on the F/A-18. To successfully integrate the chosen missile onto the F/A-18, JMPS will require a number of upgrades. Pacific Aerospace Consulting has been employed to ensure this integration is successful and aligned with other RAAF projects upgrading the F/A-18 JMPS. This includes effective in-country liaison with the USN, USAF and appropriate commercial vendors.
