Engineering Manager with C-17 Experience

Location: Warner Robbins AFB, Georgia, USA

Role: Seeking engineers with C-17 Globemaster experience in the US Air Force or US Defense Industry with experience in project management. An immediate opportunity exists to support the C-17 for an international customer, and is expected to involve project management on their behalf within the USA. As the work is foreign military related, prior FMS and ITAR experience is desirable and a current US security clearance is necessary. Candidate must be willing to travel within the US, and will require excellent personal communication skills, both written and oral. Positions will be at the equivalent mid-senior GS level.

Computer Scientist

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: Applies knowledge of computer science concepts and techniques, mathematics, and methods of statistical analysis to develop and apply automated solutions to engineering, scientific, or business data acquisition and management problems. Uses mathematical, statistical, and scientific logic to identify conceptual or theoretical solutions to problems of automated data processing (ADP) hardware or software systems design and operations. Analyzes and formulates architectural and functional specifications, interfaces, and data structures. Researches applications for ADP hardware, software, and operating systems. Writes, modifies, and adapts computer programs in machine level, assembly, and third or fourth generation programming languages.

Requirements: At least one (1) year of recent relevant experience is required.

BS or BA degree in a Computer Science or Relevant Technical Discipline. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: The equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

 

Configuration Management Analyst

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: Performs the necessary functions of configuration management for control of technical (hardware and software) configurations of
laboratory or project assets. Apply government- instituted processes for documentation, change control management, data management, reconfiguration, base lining, data management, and other relevant processes. Ensure adherence to institutionalized processes and procedures.

Requirements: At least six (6) years program experience; a minimum of three (3) years out of the prior six (6) years of program experience must include aircraft systems configuration management. Demonstrated program experience in the configuration management process must include: configuration identification, control, audit, and status; DOD configuration management policies, procedures, review cycles, instructions and standards; engineering change proposal evaluations; and Operational and Safety Improvement Program (OSIP) procedures. Demonstrated experience with aircraft and system avionics, subsystems, ancillary equipment, and ground support equipment development, testing, production, and operational use.

BS or BA degree.

 

Engineer/Scientist

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems. Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. Applies engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems, or management information systems.

Requirements: At least 3-6 years of experience in a “Relevant Engineering/Science Field”.

BS or BA degree in a “Relevant Engineering/Science Field”.

 

Engineering Technician

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: The Engineering Technician performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations, follows standard work methods on recurring assignments but receives explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments. Technical adequacy of routine work is reviewed on completion; non-routine work may be reviewed in progress. This technician performs at this level, one or a combination of such typical duties as:

  1. Following specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts, servicing or repairing simple instruments or equipment;
  2. Conducting a variety of tests using established methods, preparing test specimens, adjusting and operating equipment, recording test data, and pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors;
  3. Extracting engineering data from various prescribed but non- standardized sources, processing the data following well-defined methods including elementary algebra and geometry, and presenting the data in prescribed form.

Requirements: At least three (3) years of practical experience, to include laboratory testing, manufacturing, or maintenance. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Five (5) years of practical experience, to include laboratory testing, manufacturing, or maintenance. AS or AA degree in a Relevant Technical Discipline.

 

Financial Analyst

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: Provides financial and/or accounting support to the activity Accounting Department, Budget Department, Financial Systems Department or Business Operations Department, and other organizational support elements and other activities. Performs analytical and evaluative work requiring a comprehensive knowledge of:

(1) theory and principles;

(2) financial and management organization, operations, and practices;

(3) pertinent statutory or regulatory provisions; and

(4) related basic economic, accounting, and legal principles. Develops and analyze impacts of budget marks.

Assists with development of appropriate acquisition documentation regarding financial interest items. Provides support with a variety of management activities, corporate initiatives, special projects, and data calls which could have significant impact on the organization and its business operations.

Requirements: At least four (4) years financial management experience, two (2) of which must be within DoN. Financial management experience should include financial analysis of business programs, development of cost estimates, program status reports, and knowledge of DoD Federal Management Regulations (FMR), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR,), PPBE process and two years of DoN procurement policies and procedures.

BS or BA degree in a Business, Management or Relevant Technical Discipline. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An AS or AA degree and an additional four (4) years of experience; OR an additional eight (8) years of experience may be substituted for a BS or BA degree.

 

Senior Logistics Engineer

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: Senior Logistics support SMEs for ILS areas of Avionics, Power and Propulsion, and maintenance planning. Performs various tasks related to the development, operation, evaluation, and improvement of weapon systems supportability and/or maintainability programs and information systems. Works on logistics and maintainability programs and with logistics and maintenance control organizations on issues such as: technical evaluation and identification of weapons systems logistics requirements and resources; development of logistics support and maintainability programs or plans; systems acquisition requirements analysis; budgetary or financial analysis and control; life cycle cost analysis and control; weapons systems hardware and software standardization and compatibility; Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)/Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) program test and evaluation planning and execution; and, ILS/R&M program management analysis. Collects, compiles, analyzes, investigates, researches, or applies logistics, maintenance, acquisition, or financial data and information. Develops, modifies, prepares, or validates documentation in relation to automated logistics or maintenance data reporting systems, and management info systems.

Requirements: At least ten (10) years of experience in an engineering or logistics position, three (3) of which must be directly related to Naval systems. Demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering or logistics expertise.

MS or MA degree in Engineering, Logistics, Science or a Relevant Technical Discipline. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: A BS or BA degree and an additional four (4) years of experience can be substituted for an MS or MA degree.

 

Order Clerk

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: This position handles orders that involve making judgments such as choosing which specific product or material from the establishment’s product lines will satisfy the customer’s needs, or determining the price to be quoted when pricing involves more than merely referring to a price list or making some simple mathematical calculations.

Requirements: High School diploma or GED.

 

Program Manager, Business Operations and Systems

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: Acts as the overall lead, manager and administrator for the contracted effort. Serves as the primary interface and point of contact with Government program authorities and representatives on technical and program/project issues. Oversees contractor personnel program/project operations. Organizes, directs and coordinates the planning and production of all contract and subcontract support activities.

Requirements: At least eight (8) years of professional experience.

BS or BA degree in Business Administration or other Relevant Technical Discipline. An AS or AA degree and an additional four (4) years of experience may be substituted for a BA/BS or an additional eight (8) years of experience may be substituted for a BA/BS.

 

Senior Project Support Specialist

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: Provides full acquisition lifecycle project management support to IT program management offices. Assist with the development and execution of acquisition strategies and Project Management Accountability System (PMAS) work products. Interfaces with multiple government client organizations to coordinate and complete all project processes for new IT projects from requirements through product development successfully. Supports Integrated Project Team (IPT) activities, creates and tracks schedules, leads weekly status meetings, and produces detailed reports used by the team and management.

Requirements: High School diploma or GED. At least five (5) years of experience with project management support, to include experience with writing business requirements.

 

Physical Security/Force Protection/Anti-Terrorism Specialist

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: Apply knowledge of Physical Security, Force Protection (FP), and Anti- Terrorism (AT) to develop, implement, and manage the Physical Security/FP/AT Program. Ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Conduct Surveys and report findings. Develop, participate in, and/or provide Physical Security/FP/AT training and awareness.

Requirements: BS or BA degree. At least 4 years of experience.

 

JMPS Subject Matter Expert

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: The Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) will use operational mission planning and software analysis technical expertise for JMPS support program development, project execution, business and technical operations, strategic initiatives, workforce development, or as required to support technical and organizational tasks. This person will serve as an intermediary between NavMPS IPT members and the JMPS operational users to cover Mission Planning Environment (MPE) support, software development feedback, engineering efforts, and acquisition life cycle milestones and events.

Requirements: At least six (6) – twelve (12) years of hands-on experience in one of the following areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, and Training. Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and public service leadership in Relevant Technical Discipline; and Either:

At least four (4) years hands- on experience working with mission planning tools in a development environment. Must be familiar with Object Oriented languages such as C++, Java, and C#. Experience with C#, XML and .NET is preferred. Familiar with developing in Microsoft Windows (MS Visual Studio).

OR:

As an alternative to developer environment experience and programming knowledge, at least six (6) years military experience as aircrew with a minimum of two (2) years with close involvement in the area of mission planning and execution.

 

Senior System Administrator

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems. Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems. Sets up administrator and service accounts. Maintains system documentation. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup
recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. May program in an administrative language. Develops and implements testing strategies and document results. Provides advice and training to end- users. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. Participates in special projects as required.

Requirements: At least five (5) years of experience in systems administration and analysis.

BS or BA degree in a Computer Science or Relevant Technical Discipline. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: The equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

 

Systems Analyst

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: Collects information to analyze and evaluate. Performs logical and physical system design and reviews and prepares system documents and specifications. Conducts technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with
system. Prepares reports, studies and documentation. Delivers presentations and participates in meetings. Works on special problem areas; administers complex areas of the network, security analysis and planning.

Requirements: At least six (6) years of experience with mid-sized client-server systems in systems analysis, software design, software development and database administration. Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance, quality control, and independent verification and validation techniques. Experience working independently and as part of a team in researching data, developing analytical techniques and methodologies. Demonstrated knowledge of system acquisition practices required to design, develop, integrate, test and manufacture a major system. Performs tasks with little or no guidance.

BS or BA degree in a Relevant Technical Discipline. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An AS or AA degree and an additional four (4) years of experience; OR an additional eight (8) years of experience may be substituted for a BS or BA degree.

 

Senior Systems Engineer

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: Leads interdisciplinary team members in identifying, formulating, designing and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems. Guides and leads other engineers in the development of modern complex systems, and when appropriate, conduct research in applied systems engineering to advance the field.

Requirements: At least ten (10) years of professional interdisciplinary engineering experience. Experience with aircraft systems, hardware and software, configuration control, test and evaluation, systems integration, and systems supportability. Demonstrated ability to perform research and analysis, develop and evaluate system engineering solutions and be able to translate customer requirements into a product development and integration strategy. Experience managing multiple development projects and be responsible for producing contract deliverables, provide direction to the product development team, create monthly status and risk reports, and manage project performance.

MS or MA degree in Engineering, Logistics, Science or a “Relevant Technical Discipline”. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: A BS or BA degree and an additional four (4) years of experience can be substituted for an MS or MA degree.

 

Technical Writer

Location: Point Mugu, CA USA

Responsibilities: The Technical Writer develops, writes, and edits material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment, receives assignment from supervisor, observes production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail. This writer interviews production and engineering personnel and reads journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods, and reviews manufacturer’s and trade catalogs, drawings and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service of equipment.

The Technical Writer studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail, organizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology; and reviews published materials and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding. This worker may perform the following tasks: maintain records and files of work and revisions, select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material; assist in laying-out material for publication, arrange for typing, duplication and distribution of material, write speeches, articles, and public or employee relations releases, edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or plant personnel. This incumbent may specialize in writing material regarding work methods and procedures.
